Managing Your Spam Quarantine in Exchange
Any time a message is suspected of being a phishing attempt or of containing malware, it will be held in quarantine. At the end of each day that new messages are placed in your quarantine, you will receive a summary e-mail notifying you of the messages in your quarantine. An example of a quarantine summary email looks like the following:
You can use the buttons provided to perform the following tasks.
• Review to safely preview the message being held in quarantine
• Release to release the message and allow it to be delivered to your mailbox
• Block Sender to add the sender of the message to your Blocked Senders list.
If you are expecting an e-mail and are concerned it might have been added to quarantine, you can check all of the messages in your quarantine at any time by visiting the following link: https://protection.office.com/quarantine. For all messages in quarantine, you will have the same three options to Review, Release, or Block Sender, as well as a few additional options. Messages left in your quarantine will be automatically deleted after 30 days.
