Transfer Files to New Profile  

 

  1. 1. Login to the device using the administrator account.  This is either the local manager account setup by RHIT OR the new administrator account you set up by following the “Create a New Local Manager Account”. 

  2. 2. Open 2 <File Explorer> windows, placing them side by side 

  1. 3. In both windows type <C:\Users> in the top navigation bar 

  1. 4. Open your RHIT user folder on the right window.  Click <continue> in the pop-up window to provide administrator permission to open this folder. 

  1. 5. In command line at the top of the window, Click <View>, Click <Hidden items>  

  1. 6. In the right File Explorer window, select all files from your Rose-Hulman user folder 

  1. 7. Right Click then Click <Copy> 

  1. 8. In the left File Explorer window, right click on white space, Click <Paste> 

 

 

Delete Duplicate Data 

  1. 1. When finished copying data from RHIT user account to the new user account, you may delete your Rose-Hulman user folder.  

  1. 2. In the right File Explorer window, select all files, right click, Click <Delete> 

  1. 3. Click <­> at top of window to navigate up one level to main folder 

  1. 4. Select Rose-Hulman User Folder, right click, Click <Delete>
