During a reload, customers can elect to have data restored or not restored to their laptop. For customers planning on having data backed up and restored to their computer, EIT personnel will make every effort to preserve the files in the following locations on Institute images only: Desktop, Favorites, Mozilla profile, Outlook Archives, Outlook Signatures, Contacts, Links, Downloads, Documents, Music, Pictures and Video folders (not libraries).
Please note that any data stored outside of the directories listed above will be lost during a reload. Programs such as computer games are also not restored during a reload. It is recommended that customers perform their own back-up of data before completing a reload.
Certain software such as Java, Maple, MatLab, SolidWorks, and others can be re-installed from Company Portal, or their respective websites. Microsoft Office will be automatically re-installed with the operating system.
Rose-Hulman currently supports Windows 11. All reloads will receive Windows 11.
